19691969: The Journey to a New Home
In the 60ies, Eliakutty left her homeland of Kerala in southern India and came to Cologne.
A great deal was new. The language, the weather, the people. Yet one piece of home always stayed with her: the family recipes of Kerala and the joy of sharing them around the dining table.
Over the years, Germany became home. But through shared meals, Kerala always remained alive.
A Meal That Is More Than Just Food
The aroma of freshly roasted spices and the warmth of home-cooked dishes filled the house. Family, friends, neighbours and colleagues gathered around the table, shared stories, laughed and enjoyed good food together.
Many acquaintances became friends, and many guests became part of the family.
